Patrice Katz was admitted to the Amsterdam bar in 1991. During nearly 25 years of experience as an entertainment lawyer Mr Katz has specialized in the commercial and contractual aspects of intellectual property. Mr Katz has worked extensively on matters relating to copyright, neighbouring rights, licensing, music publishing, intellectual property enforcement and valuation issues. Mr Katz regularly works with clients engaged in the international music and audio visual industries.
He and his team undertake IP due diligence processes both within the Netherlands and across multiple jurisdictions. They also handle the IP and commercial aspects of various M&A and private equity transactions in the entertainment industry. Mr Katz advises clients on the acquisition, transfer and licensing of IP rights and counsels and assists clients in the drafting of documentation regarding a broad spectrum of commercial transactions. These concern entertainment related issues and IP assets such as rights assignments, joint development and co-ownership of IP, licensing and exploitation agreements.
Mr Katz is a member of VVA, the Dutch Copyright Association. He sits on the board of Performer Matters, one of Netherlands’ leading DJ agencies. He is also board member of Frank Sanders’ Produktiehuis, a theatre production company connected to the Netherlands leading Musical Academy in Amsterdam.

Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
